Dr. Boan attended college at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA and received both his B.S. and O.D. (Doctorate of Optometry) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

When did you know that you wanted to be an optometrist
I decided in my junior year of undergraduate studies.
Favorite part of being an optometrist
For sure it’s the patients and the friendships that I’ve developed over the years.
Favorite vacation
My wife and I still have an extensive bucket list for travel, but my favorite so far is Iceland.
Favorite concert you’ve been to
Honestly, I’m not a big concert person, but my favorite would date back to a date in the late 1980’s on a nice Atlanta evening with my now wife of 32+ years. That concert was (time to show my age) Phil Collins with Genesis.
Do you have any pets?
Not currently, but we have four crazy grand-dogs!
Fun fact
My wife, Kris, and I have four adult children. All four are graduates of Liberty University. The oldest three are married. We reside as empty-nesters in Statesville, and we love to travel…so much so that Kris is now a land and sea travel advisor with Cruise Planners. I speak Spanish at the B2 level.
