When did you know that you wanted to be an optometrist

After carrying a corneal metal foreign body around for about a week, I went to a local optometrist who removed the foreign body and rust ring without causing me pain. I went in hurting and left with great relief. I had been considering entering dental school, but soon knew that optometry was my calling. Favorite part of being an optometrist – The immediate gratification of helping people see what they have been missing.
