When did you know that you wanted to be an optometrist

I’ve wanted to be a doctor since I was a little boy; I’ve wanted to be an optometrist since I was 13 years old and had an eye injury myself.

Favorite part of being an optometrist

The relationship with my patients and their families is far and away the greatest aspect of this profession. I get to be a part of the lives of these amazing people at both big and small moments in their life story, and that privilege is a joy.

Favorite vacation

Florence, Italy

Favorite concert you’ve been to

Jack Johnson at Walnut Creek in Raleigh – just an amazing date night with my sweet wife!

Do you have any pets?

I shouldn’t count children, right? Riley is the best dog I’ve ever had, and she is an eleven-year-old Goldendoodle. Yes, I know that means I’ve checked my man-card at the door, but she’s the best.

Fun fact

Married 30 years; 6 children; our current house is the 26th residence I’ve called home!
