Vision deficits that occur after a concussion, stroke, or other brain injury often respond well to neuro-optometric rehabilitation.

The Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association defines vision rehabilitation as an individualized treatment regimen for patients with visual deficits as a direct result of traumatic brain injuries, neuro-degenerative disease, and other neurological insults.

Neuro-optometric therapy is a way to regain visual skills and maximize healthy visual functioning.  Improving visual performance can provide patients an opportunity to reclaim their independence, whether it is by returning to their job/school, sport, driving, or their activities of daily living.

Description of our neuro-optometric rehabilitation program:

  • Sessions are once or twice a week, last 45 minutes in duration, and can take place In-person or virtually.
  • Courses tend to last between 3 and 12 months in duration depending on diagnosis and patient attendance consistency.
  • Home activities are prescribed 5-10 minutes daily and are vital to patient success.
  • The program is individualized based on the patient’s diagnoses, age, progress, and goals.
  • We do welcome patients under workers’compensation and those patients who received their injury from a car accident.
